Totally agreed.

You see all of this stuff is made using oil, and we don't recycle enough or re-use items. Plus if you can get people to check their air pressure this will hopefully lead to other gas saving habits, like changing your oil, spark plugs, and air filter. To say that america does not abuse oil is completely

Actually we do abuse our oil. How often do you save plastic containers for reuse. How often to you choose paper over plastic when grocery shopping(or use a re-useable bag). Do you purchase bottled water? Do you recycle plastics which you are not going to re-use? Do you purcahse 2-liters of soda?false.

babner: It isn't that we "abuse" oil. There are reasons as to why we have the largest oil consumption.

I think the point is why should we continue to give people resources if they are just going to abuse them. The cure to alcoholism is not removing the beer/alcohol, it is to realize your abuse of the substance and therefore making a change. The same is true for oil.

obama has 4 years to convince me. I wasnt a big fan of both candidates, but i felt mccain as the lesser of two evils. People need to be less reliant on government to fix all their problems, once you do you lose the liberties of this country. I think people voted for him, high on the concept of change, but know one asked if it would be a better change. No one knows the true obama because hes running on the defense, denying everything. I think we are gonna find out in jan hes not what he seems.

His "experts" must be uneducated. Inflating your tires will not reduce your oil consumption for all circumstances. There are certain terrains that will cause increased oil consumption with "properly" inflated tires. It can also reduce safety. I would rather burn more oil and be safe. I also find it fascinating that they just assume how many people do not properly inflate their tires. You can also think about what could be done if we drill and inflate our tires.
